Who We Are
Welcome to Checkmate Community Incorporated, where we are dedicated to transforming not only the lives of children impacted by the incarceration of family members but also the entire family unit. Our mission is to break the chain of generational trauma by equipping both youth and their families with the tools and opportunities to thrive.
At Checkmate Community, we recognize that lasting change happens when families grow together. In addition to providing youth with entrepreneurial training, mentorship, and business experience, we also support families by offering life skills workshops, job training, mental health counseling, and homeownership education.
Empowering Families Together
We aim to empower parents with better job opportunities, teach them how to purchase homes, and even guide them toward becoming real estate agents. By working together as a family, children and their guardians learn to break the cycle and build a stronger future.
We believe that strong families build strong communities, and our programs are designed to help families rise together, supporting their children every step of the way.
